Sophia Blenda weaves melancholic chamber pop and poetic lyricism into a feminist wake-up call—an urgent outcry against social injustice that transforms isolation into collective resistance.

On her debut solo album "Die Neue Heiterkeit" (2022), the Vienna-based artist already resisted the numbing background noise of societal pressure with piano-driven, somber, and poetically charged chamber pop. Sophia Blenda’s music is a quiet yet powerful form of protest.

Now, in April 2025, her second album is set to be released. It is an indictment—and a feminist call to action. "How many isolated incidents," the album asks, "does it take to realize they’re not isolated at all?" The album’s title says it all: What else is the sum of countless individual stories but a violent system that ignores, discriminates against, and devalues FLINTA* and queer people? And yet, those affected are often not believed—or if they are, their pain is dismissed.

"I want to oppose that with my album," says Sophia Blenda. "It’s been on my mind for a long time that feminine and queer pain is so often trivialized in our society. I want to tell these stories without minimizing anything. Nothing here is dealt with casually or on the sidelines. These songs give the stories the space and weight they deserve."

Her artistic fight is against losing one’s own voice—one’s thoughts and emotions—in the chaos of modern life. Her music is a counter-design to isolation and loneliness, a resistance that is already embedded in the album’s title. These socially critical and hauntingly urgent compositions are born alone at the piano in her home in Vienna—but from there, the intimately delivered songs grow into something shared.

All in the spirit of: Together, we are less alone.
